I guess the kicker here is what is the true definition of “unsuccessful”? I think it is much more common for people to flock toward the one-minded belief that success = fame, money, some sort of recognition for said talent. Little do they know that one person’s success may come in the tiniest of packages, maybe even just learning a song or two on the piano, or writing a handful of pieces they care to share with a select few. All the time we hear about these huge, famous celebrities getting into drugs or just straight-up not being happy, but I guess that is the true definition of success, right? I guess once you’ve hit THAT point you must be doing something right? You know, I don’t think I’ve ever walked past a celebrity walking down the streets of San Francisco, but I know I must have walked past at last 5 different street musicians playing their hearts out every single day on my way to work. They may not be rich, they’re definitely not famous, but they are ridiculously talented and above all, happy. I dunno about you, but that damn sure smells like success to me.
